Dear Certificants and Agencies:
Thank you for your patience as the Center for Financial Certifications continues its transition to new policies and procedures related to the establishment of a new regulator, the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection.
As has been previously announced, a new Certification Web Portal will be launched on
January 1, 2012. This Certification Web Portal will include a new online Application process. After January 1, 2012, the online Application process will be the only method available to enroll in a certification program with the Center for Financial Certifications. More detailed information on the new platform and process will be forthcoming.
For the convenience of Applicants and their employers, the Center has developed a
Voluntary Pre-Screening Questionnaire to help Applicants determine if they meet the Candidate Fitness Standards before they complete the Application and pay their Certification Fees.
The Center announced the Candidate Fitness Standards for all Applicants and Certificants as part of the new policies which took effect on July 1, 2011. The Institute will begin implementing these Candidate Fitness Standards for all Applications, Renewals and Re-Certifications beginning
January 1, 2012, using the new Application on the Certification Web Portal.
The Center encourages all potential Applicants for Certification (and their employers) to use this form to identify potential problems with their Applications prior to enrolling, renewing or re-certifying in any of the Center's certification programs.
This questionnaire is for the convenience of the Applicant and/or their employer and should not be sent to the Center. The online Application process that will go into effect on January 1, 2012 will ask similar questions addressing the Candidate Fitness Standards, but will require more detail.
Please review the Certification Policies and Standards of the Center for Financial Certifications, found at www.FinCert.org. The Certification Policies and Standards include both the Candidate Fitness Standards themselves and an appeals process for Applicants or Certificants who do not meet certain fitness standards.
In the coming weeks, more information about the new Certification Web Portal, the Application, Renewal and Re-Certification process will be released as it is finalized.
Thank you for you continued support. We truly appreciate the opportunity to meet your certification requirements.
